Heritage Tour – Gustaf Unonius, New Upsala and the Scandinavian Parish, August 19, 2023
SAHSWI project to honor Gustaf Unonius, New Upsala, the first Swedish settlement in Wisconsin, and the Scandinavian Parish with a State Historical Marker has concluded the research phase and the marker is now being produced. The Heritage Tour will visit the historical places that played an instrumental role in establishing the Swedish settlement and Scandinavian Parish. Don’t miss this unique and interesting event scheduled Saturday, August, 19, 2023, starting at Nashotah House and ending at St. Anskar’s church.
There are 4 (four) stops scheduled as follows:
- 10:00 am Nashotah House Episcopal Seminary, 2777 Mission Road, Nashotah, WI
- 11:30 am Holy Innocents Cemetery, Kettle Moraine Scenic Drive, (Hwy C), Nashotah, WI
- 12:15 pm Chenequa Village Hall, 31275 W County Road K, Chenequa, WI
- 1:00 pm St. Anskar’s Episcopal Church, N48 W31340 Hill Road (Hwy 83), Hartland, WI
