Dear Village Residents,
We have received several absentee ballot and Election Day questions which we hope to answer and reassure you that the Village of Chenequa is prepared and moving forward for Election Day.
First, the Village has not run out of “envelopes”. Rest assured if you have requested an absentee ballot by mail one will be sent to you within 24 hours. However, due to the overload of absentee ballots going through United States Postal Services, we would recommend returning them in person by dropping them into the secure after hours drop off box at the front entrance of the Village Hall. Also, voters may still vote in person as usual in the Village Hall until Friday, April 3rd. We have taken the necessary precautions to continue this process.
Election Day – For the safety of our poll workers and village residents, the polling place has been moved to the Village Public Works Building (next door), 31197 W County Rd K. There will be two options: drive-thru or walk-in. Chief Dan Neumer will be your greeter that day to guide you through the process. Our Chief Inspectors and Poll Workers will assist you to ensure every ballot counts. Please feel free to bring your own pen to the polls, otherwise, one will be provided.
Thank you for your understanding in the change of venue. The change was made to assure the health and safety of our residents and poll workers.
Sincerely,
Pamela Ann Little
Village Clerk/Treasurer
