    Conclude ‘Apollopalooza Week’ with Finale Event on Friday, July 19 at Retzer Nature Center

    (WAUKESHA, WI) – The Horwitz-DeRemer Planetarium will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing with a five-day Apollopalooza Week celebration. The commemorative week will wrap up with an open house finale on Friday, July 19 from 4 p.m. – 9 p.m. The School District of Waukesha’s planetarium is located in Retzer Nature Center at S14W28167 Madison Street in Waukesha.

    “The excitement of the Apollo program and space exploration is still very much alive 50 years later,” said Lisa Swaney, Horwitz-DeRemer Planetarium Director. “Visitors can enjoy various events all week with fun activities for all ages, and the Apollo story documentary being shown on Friday in the planetarium dome is a must see!”

    The finale open house will feature “CapCom Go! – the Apollo Story” in the planetarium every 30 minutes starting at 4 p.m. Cost of the show will be $3 per person. Pre-sale tickets are available online at https://hdplanetarium.ticketleap.com/capcomgo/.

    Other open house activities will include exhibits, artifacts, moon crafts, telescope displays, solar and sky observing, a silent auction, hikes with Retzer naturalists, and food and drink from the Delafield Brewhaus. See the full Finale Event schedule below.

    Additional Apollopalooza Week events will run Monday, July 15 through Thursday, July 18 at the Horwitz-DeRemer Planetarium. A variety of educational and commemorative activities will take place throughout the week. These include a movie showing, an EAA guest speaker, rocket building and solar observing workshops.
